First off, I believe congratulations are in order!

Although your lives officially join together on your wedding day, your love story began long before that. From awkward first dates to fairytale-like moments you'll never forget, nobody has a love story like yours ... so nobody should have engagement photos like yours.

How did you meet? What do you do together on the weekends? What makes you laugh? To capture images that share your unique love story with friends, family and of course, Facebook, I like to get to know who you are as a couple before your engagement photo shoot and tailor the locations and theme of your experience to you. I believe locations aren't just backdrops, they are a part of your love story - whether it's where you met or where you spend your lazy Sundays, the setting can play a significant role in your engagement photos.

During your engagement experience, my focus is on the non-posed moments - how you interact with each other, your organic expressions between shots and that speciall way you exchange smiles and glances. Set up a complimentary consultation and let's plan your engagement photo experience.

"Emmalee is amazing! We were so pleased with her work and her speediness in getting the pictures back to us! I would recommend her to anyone!" - Jennifer

What happens during the consultation?

First, I will meet with you in person to get to know you and your significant other. I will learn about your personalities, your passions and your goals for the photo session. I'll listen to your ideas and share some of our own. We'll go through each step of the process so you will know what to expect and will feel relaxed and comfortable on the day of the session. I'll answer any questions you might have and offer tips for how you can make things go as smoothly as possible during the photography session.

We will also choose a location for the session at the consultation. When deciding on a location for your session, it's important not to make a choice based only on what is visually pleasing. Consider the places that mean the most to you - for instance the place where you met or proposed. What location says something about you, who you are, and what you love? Choosing a spot that evokes memories or emotions will help you to be relaxed during the photo session, and it will add an extra layer of depth to your portraits.

I prefer to photograph couples and engagement sessions outdoors, but that depends on good weather. Excessive heat or cold can make for an uncomfortable session, and rain can drive us indoors. If bad weather threatens a scheduled photo session, I will keep in contact with you as the day of the session approaches so we can decide whether to reschedule or move the session to the studio.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

During the consultation, I will work with your schedule to determine the perfect day and time for your photo session. You will pay a non-refundable deposit, sign a contract for my services and I will reserve the date for your session. If you are booking Schaumburg Photography for your wedding, most likely the engagement session will be included in your Wedding Collection.

What happens after the session?

After the photographs have been taken and each image has been professionally retouched, you will experience the moment you have been eagerly awaiting. During the viewing and ordering appointment, I will show you the finished photographs and guide you through what could otherwise be the overwhelming experience of choosing what to purchase. I will review each image with you, answer all of your questions, and offer my professional advice as you choose from prints, albums and other products available, including save the dates!

Do you offer Digital Images?

Yes, I offer a Digital Collection that includes edited images, typically 30-40 images on a wooden thumb drive with printing rights (the copyrights to the images stays with the photographer, the original creator of the images).
